John is a Marine Corps veteran and certified scuba instructor with experience diving across the Pacific, including Okinawa and multiple international locations. After returning to the sport following a hiatus, he completed advanced, rescue, divemaster, and instructor-level training under highly regarded professionals in Kona, Hawaii.
He has worked in dive shops where he gained hands-on experience in gas blending, tank inspections, compressor operations, and equipment servicing. Today, John operates his own dive company, focusing on safe, high-quality instruction and expanding adaptive diving opportunities for veterans and individuals with cognitive or physical disabilities.
Laurel originally became certified to dive during college, but life took her away from the ocean, and she didn’t dive again until meeting John in Hawai‘i. After such a long break, she retook the Open Water course and has since completed Advanced, Rescue Diver, and Divemaster certifications. She is optimistic about attending an IDC in 2026 to become a dive instructor. As a former special education teacher, Laurel is especially excited to participate in the HSA (Handicap Scuba Association) class in February, hosted by Dive Moore, to learn techniques for teaching scuba to students of all abilities.
